What Is Permanent Makeup?

Intradermal pigmentation, commonly known as “Permanent Makeup”, is the method of applying micropigments into the dermal layer of the skin. This state of the art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe.

At Ultimate Wellness, we pay attention to your individual preference, lifestyle, and facial features. During the consultation, Mercedes will meet with you to discuss exactly what you hope to achieve and she will offer her expert opinion in an intimate and discreet setting to make sure you are completely satisfied with the outcome.  Whether it is your eyes, lips, or complimenting your hair, your best features will be naturally accentuated.  After you express your personal requests, she will apply topical makeup to show you what to expect.  We maintain the cleanest environment for your comfort and safety, and topical numbing ensures a comfortable application.

Permanent Makeup Eyeliner

Eyeliner can be applied in various styles just as you can draw it on in different ways with an eye liner pencil. You can let us know your preferences such as thin, medium, thick, full line, half line, thicker on outer third, thinner on inner half, etc.  Mercedes’ artistic skill, experience with makeup application, and technical ability will be able to accommodate your requests. Lash line enhancement is a lighter/softer shading in the lash line to create the appearance of a thicker lash line, so it looks more like a “barely there” eyeliner.

Permanent Makeup Eyebrows

At Ultimate Wellness in Boca Raton, we utilize techniques with the goal to resemble individual eyebrow hairs. The fill-in technique produces the solid shaded look you have when using an eyebrow pencil.  A brushed on technique looks something in between the two. A graceful upward curve of the outer eyebrow and clean arch makes the eyes look bigger, and the face more open and receptive.

Permanent Makeup Lip Color

Lip color can be customized for a shade similar to your favorite lipstick. One sitting typically produces a light/ medium result, two treatments produce a medium/ dark result. Results vary depending on color applied and amount of pigment implanted. The final shape of the lip can be altered to make both sides and the top and bottom a better match. Lip fullness can be enhanced or minimized by tattooing on the outside or inside of the edge of the lip just as you would draw it with your lip liner pencil.

Is Permanent Makeup really permanent?

This technique is considered permanent because it cannot be washed off. But, unlike traditional tattooing performed on the body, permanent makeup professionals do not use traditional tattoo ink (dye). Our pigment is more delicate and designed to work with the skin’s undertones and to mimic hair. Every person’s skin is different in regarding pigment retention. Factors which effect longevity of permanent cosmetics are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure. You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above.
